Plan a property-viewing trip around Jacó
A useful viewing trip should answer more than whether you like the photographs. Plan enough time to compare daily life, access and ownership questions, and keep document checks separate from the excitement of a first visit.

Before travel: send a clear brief
Tell Dominique your comfortable total budget, preferred areas, home or land preference, travel dates and practical requirements. Mention steps, parking, visitors and care while away if those matter to you.
Ask which properties are currently available, which can actually be viewed and what information can be reviewed beforehand. Do not build an itinerary around a saved listing without confirmation. Keep the shortlist small enough that you can compare the homes rather than rushing between them.
- Two or three area preferences and why they interest you.
- Budget plus allowance for ownership or planned work.
- Non-negotiable layout and access requirements.
- Confirmed viewing dates and available properties.
First compare an area, then inspect individual homes
Use part of the trip to try the routines you would repeat: a grocery visit, your beach route and travel to other services. An area you enjoy on holiday may still need different arrangements for longer stays.
Visit the actual address and approach road. For Herradura or Los Sueños, clarify the community before assuming amenity access. For Playa Hermosa, confirm the Central Pacific location and inspect beach-area or hillside access separately.
At each viewing: keep the same short record
Use one checklist for every property so the last home you see does not win simply because its details are freshest. Photograph or note features only where permitted, and record information sources.
Test the entrance, parking-to-home route, changes in level and spaces you would use daily. Ask about maintenance history, included items, recurring charges and rules. Do not treat a comfortable visit as an inspection report.
| Record | Example question |
|---|---|
| Exact location | What is the actual route from here to my everyday errands? |
| Daily access | Are there steps or gradients I would repeatedly use? |
| Ownership | What fees, rules and maintenance responsibilities apply? |
| Condition | Which issues need an independent inspection? |
| Evidence | Which answers are documented and which are still assumptions? |
Leave time for a second look and independent checks
If one property is a serious candidate, revisit the questions that matter most. Ask whether another viewing or a professional inspection can be arranged. A short travel window should not force you to treat unanswered document or condition questions as resolved.
For land, use the parcel checklist instead of a house checklist: records, survey details, access, services and proposed-use feasibility. For any offer, obtain advice on the actual terms and how outstanding checks will be handled.
After the trip: compare facts and next steps
Sort your observations into confirmed facts, preferences and unresolved questions. Share the shortlist with Dominique and ask what changed in availability or what information can now be obtained. Keep a comfortable option to continue the search if the best-looking property does not meet your needs.
The objective is a decision you understand, not a purchase completed before your flight. Download the buying guide to keep the questions in one place, or contact Dominique directly with your viewing dates.
